Jason’s & Bess’ Downtown Wedding in Seattle

A three-day event.  What a great idea when you truly want to enjoy each celebration designed for you and your guests.  Ever wondered how you can pull it off by having an event that not only pleases everyone, but also allows you to mingle, chill, celebrate and enjoy moments?  Well this is how Jason & Bess did it.

Day one was a pre-wedding party with close friends and co-workers, dancing at a club, toasting to life all night with lots of high energy.  Being a few weeks before the actual wedding day, hangover was ok and they were able to work off all the alcohol and food.  Being sore from dancing all night was ok, they had time to rest it off.  No one had to worry if mom or uncle Ben are bored or can’t stand the music.

Day two was the ceremony and a small lunch reception.  Immediate family and best friends attended a roof top wedding over looking the Puget sound.  A very touching ceremony with an accordion playing softly in the background, adding a Parisian feel to this beautiful fall afternoon.  We started the photo shoot with the bride and groom at the Seattle Art Museum, walked through the Pike Market and Post Alley, then stopped for Gelato before touch ups at the Four Seasons Hotel.  Across the street, the ceremony was held.  Short and sweet but very meaningful words made vows to each other tear-filled… happy tears, even I was crying!  The newlyweds, along with about 20+ guests walked up to Wild Ginger on 3rd Avenue.

Day three was the combined reception, held at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center in North Bend.  This is where Jason’s and Bess’ friends and families all meet and get to celebrate their union.  Good food, good company, good wine…surrounded by mountains, the reception hall’s walls were open to allow the outside, in.  It was a casual event and everyone enjoyed the afternoon.

All three events were fun and memorable.  We’re glad they chose us to capture those special days.

Andy’s & Vanny’s Beach Wedding in Manchester

This beach wedding had so many unforgettable details besides the amazing food at the crab bake reception.  To name a few, there was the very well-behaved ring bearer (A Doberman in a tuxedo)… the high-five wedding cake topper… “You may now high-five your wife” closing… a very involved groom and a bride who is the exact opposite to bridezilla.  Family and close friends joined Andy and Vanny at the back yard of this beach house, as they committed their lives and hearts to each other on this beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Brad’s & Jade’s Reception at Anthony’s HomePort Shilshole Bay

Here are two people who are truly in love.  You can see it in the way they look at each other, even while simply holding hands.  They were married in Las Vegas Last November, and guess who officiated?  Who else but Elvis!  Today, they celebrated their love and shared this happy occasion with their family and closest friends.  Portraits of the couple were taken at Golden Gardens Park and the reception took place at Anthony’s overlooking Shilshole Bay in North Seattle.

Hitched on the Beach at the Wedding Circle in Mukilteo

When two people realize they do belong together, it doesn’t take long to make up their minds.  Once married to each other, they decided on Monday to re-marry that Friday!  Their son as the best man and daughter the maid of honor, it was such a pleasure to marry and reunite the four of them.  Witnessed by immediate family and close friends on a windy fall evening at the Wedding Circle in Mukilteo, this was not just a happy ending, but a good beginning to a new chapter of their life story.

A Garden Wedding in Arlington

This beautiful, intimate garden wedding was the only thing warmer than the summer breeze that afternoon.  Roland and Kathy had their nuptials at their front yard in Arlington.  As they exchanged vows under the birch tree canopy, their family and closest friends look on with smiles and happy tears and the Best man (Kathy’s dog) watches as they put the rings on.  The groom’s suit was all white and the bride wore a colorful summer dress.  A white canopy created the intimate dining space lined with casual long tables and chairs and welcomed the guests after the “Short but sweet” ceremony.  Wine barrels were scattered around the property where bottles of wine and clear cups awaited the thirsty.  Kids playing tag or hide and seek, boys tossing the football around and more were in the backyard enjoying the bouncy house the couple rented for the grand kids.  The meal was a delicious Bar-B-Q treat cooked on site by Texas Smokehouse Bar-B-Q.  This is the way to do it if your goal is to share a simple gathering with family, love, fun and good memories.

A Courthouse Wedding on St. Patty’s day

This is the first wedding Peter and I did together.  It started at a Courthouse in Seattle early in the morning and ended at a church basement in Shoreline ten hours and eight rolls of film later (Using my Pentax cameras with the zoom lenses).  We did it for my mom’s friend.

Little did we know that this would spark something in our hearts.  Amazing how that happens because soon after this, we decided to look into digital photography, starting Sternfels Family Photography in addition to our 9-5 jobs… the rest is history.
